Servant Leader Workshop

The Servant Leader Workshop
One and a half day management workshop
April 22-23, 2009 Dusit Thani Manila

Best-selling author of The One-Minute Manager, Ken Blanchard, along with Phil Hodges, reveals the meaning of servant leadership modeled after Jesus Christ. Based on Blanchard's and Hodges' Faith Walk seminars, business leaders come to realize that teams are more powerful than the sum of the individuals and to recognize their people as appreciating assets.

Servant Leader summarizes the Four Dimensions of Leadership:
· the head (leadership assumptions and methods)
· the hands (application and leadership behavior)
· the heart (edging God out)
· the habits (solitude, prayer, study of scripture, unconditional love, etc.)
The thousands who have attended his seminars witnessed the transforming power of this unconventional approach. Individuals seeking to grow as leaders and business executives will find Servant Leader nothing short of life-changing.

Excerpt from the "The Servant Leader"

Your Values. What do you stand for? How do you want people to behave?

Fewer than 10% of organizations around the world have clear, written values. But values are important because they drive people's behavior while they are working on the purpose and the picture of the future.
Most organizations that do have values either have too many values and/or they are not ranked. Research shows that people can't focus on more than three or four values if you really want to impact behavior. Why? Because life is about value conflicts. When these conflicts arise, people need to know what value they should focus on.

Walt Disney intuitively knew this when he ranked safety ahead of courtesy, the show and efficiency among their four values. Why did he do that? Because he knew if a guest left the park on a stretcher, the guest would not have the same smile on their face as was present when entering the park. So if a cast member heard a scream while being courteous to a guest, they would excuse themselves immediately and focus on the number one value - safety.

What are the key values of your organization? How are they ranked in order of importance? True success in servant leadership depends on how clearly values are defined, ordered, and lived by the leader.
